tommyandcacho Morning John!! I hope you are well.... I'm a recent devotee since your new show on BBC radio... I just bought this show for me and my husband to enjoy... and to give him a heads up for what to expect for when we see you at the Salford Lowry in a few weeks. Thank you so much for making me laugh every day as I'm listening to your back catalogue of podcasts.. my commute to work is a much more enjoyable drive. Big hugs and lots of love man xxx

tonypep1976 I stumbled across the legendary John Robbins and his retarded Welsh assistant Ellis whilst listening to XFM. Right then I knew I’d found a kindred spirit. Fan of the greatest rock band in the history of music, appreciator of the session ale, lover of The Great Gatsby & under appreciated and ahead of his time during those dark days of youth. It was a mere guarantee that Johns stand up would tick all the boxes. Fast, witty and intelligently funny.

This recording was made at The Comedy Box in Bristol on March 1st 2014 This was the penultimate gig of my tour that year. It's made up of four tracks in the highest quality I could upload.

I remember coming off stage thinking it was my favourite performance of my favourite show at my favourite venue. And though no recording can ever capture completely what that feels like in the room, this comes very close. The quality of the recording is absolutely great, thanks entirely to Dave Lichfield who recorded it, and Robin Allender and Dave Collingwood who mixed it.

The tour show was almost identical to the show I performed in Edinburgh in 2013. It's about nostalgia and adolescence, and I'm still really pleased with it, even a year after it was written. Enjoy!
